Botswana

In the heart of Southern Africa, Botswana offers possibly the finest, authentic wildlife experience in the world. It is comprised largely of the Kalahari Desert, within which lies the Okavango Delta, a wonderful blue-green wetland considered by many to be Africa's most incredible wildlife and wilderness sanctuary. Chobe National Park is famous for its large herds of Elephants and pods of Hippo.

The two main points of entry into Botswana are Maun & Kasane. Maun allows access into the Okavango Delta as well as the Linyanti & Savuti Areas and Kasane allows access into the Chobe National Park.

Botswana is extremely popular for the adventurous traveller who wants to explore at their leisure on a 4 x 4 camping safari.  It is recommended that guests travel in convoy (due to the road conditions) and pre-plan and book their trip prior to departure.  A minimum of two week stay is recommended for a self-drive 4 x 4 safari.

Chobe is easily accessible from both Zimbabwe & Zambia and offers an ideal game experience for visitors who have limited time available to them as they can enjoy a day safari in this beautiful region.

For the other regions within Botswana we recommend a minimum of a 6 night stay as this will allow you to explore the Delta, Savuty & Chobe regions by spending two nights in each region and enjoying all the beauty this destination has to offer by participating in land and water-based game activities.  Access to these regions is usually by inter-camp flights in small aircraft so only soft-sided duffel-bags are allowed.
